Susan Hauser, Customer Advocacy and Licensing, Microsoft Corporation
Susan Hauser is the General Manager of the newly formed Customer Advocacy and Licensing group, responsible for promoting, engaging and partnering with customers on intellectual property strategies and investments. She brings to her position over 20 years of deep customer, vertical technology, sales and management experience.
Susan began her career with Microsoft in 1989 in the New York office as a Reseller Account Representative, responsible for building and developing the reseller channel in the Westchester and Connecticut marketplaces. From 1992 to 1997 Susan served as a Corporate Account Representative, working to drive adoption of Excel and Word as well as managing a territory of accounts across Westchester, Connecticut, Long Island and New York City. She also created the first media and publishing vertical focus in 1995, managing and developing relationships with key customers such as Viacom, Harper Collins, ABC TV, Simon & Schuster and McGraw Hill.
In 1997, Susan transitioned to a financial services territory and was responsible for winning and successfully deploying retail branch platforms and messaging across her territory to establish Windows NT as the server and networking standard, and establishing Microsoft as a key partner across its top financial services customers.
Susan became an Enterprise Sales Manager in 1998, developing a partner initiative to leverage managed partners to ensure customer deployment success of Windows NT Server adoption, SQL Server and Internet platform solutions. Susan helped develop a customer financial services executive advisory board to capture feedback and a process for prioritizing Microsoft’s investments. In this role she also helped create the Financial Services team with the goal of developing a deeper understanding of Microsoft’s Financial Services customers, aligning the company’s efforts to meet customers’ needs to deepen our partnerships. In 1999, Susan and team received the Microsoft Builders Award for their Blue Star project, a customer-driven effort to identify gaps in product functionality that impeded customers from building mission critical applications on the Microsoft platform.
In 2000, Susan assumed the role of Regional Sales Director role for the entire East Region, where she was responsible for maintaining relationships with important financial services customers across insurance, banking and capital markets; driving a number of breakthrough industry solutions, such as JP Morgan Chase Internet Banking, the BONY Rufus Project, State Street Fund Broker Project and PrudentialSecurities.com.
In 2003, Susan transitioned to the General Manager role for New York and New Jersey District where she was responsible for managing sales, systems engineering, marketing, and consulting for 400 of Microsoft's largest corporate customers in New York City, Westchester, Fairfield County, New Jersey, Long Island, and Upstate New York.
Susan is a board member of the non-profit organization NPower in New York and has been recognized by Exploring Posts and LISNET for her contributions to the community, youth and woman as a role model. Susan lives in Westchester County with her husband and two sons, Henry and Jared.
Susan Heystee, Vice President, General Manager, Global Strategic Alliances, Novell
Susan Heystee serves as Vice President, General Manager, Global Strategic Alliances. Susan is a member of Novell’s Worldwide Management Committee.
Susan joined Novell in March, 2004 as vice president and area general manager for the Midwest Area. She is an accomplished leader in the software and services industry, holding senior positions with SSA global and Baan, where she was executive vice president, worldwide sales and delivery and also served as president, Baan Americas.
Susan graduated with honors from the University of Waterloo, earning a degree in mathematics with a dual concentration in computer science and business administration.
Drew Hiltz, Managing Director, US IT Chief Technology Officer, Natixis Capital Markets Inc.
Drew Hiltz is the Deputy Chief Information Officer at Natixis Capital Markets Inc. Natixis Capital Markets is part of the NATIXIS group formed in 2006 in the merger between the French banks, Groupe Caisse D’Epargne and Group Banque Populaire both of which are headquartered in Paris, France.
Drew’s responsibilities include day-to-day management of all aspects of the technology operations and systems development at Natixis CM. He is responsible for the proper deployment of technology for the Natixis trading environment including cost management and continuous availability of critical systems. Drew is a member of a number of Natixis’s management committees including Business Continuity Planning; Security; and Technology.
A graduate of Fairfield University, Drew holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a minor in Biology.
John Humphreys, Program Vice President, Enterprise Platforms, IDC
John Humphreys is a Program VP with IDC's Enterprise Platform Group where he heads up the Enterprise Virtualization Software program covering the range of virtualization products deployed in both data center and client environments. The program also examines the role of manageability in the emerging virtual environment. Additional areas of focus include the adoption of blade servers, the modularization of the data center along with the automation and virtualization of the data center environment, and the emergence of grid computing in the enterprise.
Prior to joining IDC, John worked in the energy industry where he combined his geological and geophysical background along with an interest in unconventional exploration opportunities to develop risk profiles, technical and financial models for a wide range of projects, including a division portfolio analysis, strategic analysis related to company positioning, and complex reservoir development programs. His interest technology and in examining emerging market opportunities is what led John to IDC in 1999.
John received a B.A and M.S. from Miami University and University of Wyoming respectively.
Jay Jaeger, Partner Executive, Global Strategic Partnership Team, Novell
Jay Jaeger is a Partner Executive with Novell's Global Strategic Partnerships team. In this role, Jay works with joint Microsoft-Novell customers and services teams to facilitate SUSE Linux deployments. In addition, he focuses on best practices in deploying SUSE Linux as well as implementation opportunities for Microsoft & Novell technical collaboration products.
Jay is in his 14th year with Novell; previously he managed the project management consulting practice for the North American business unit. In that role he and his team actively engaged with some of Novell's largest customers. He is a former leader of Novell’s project management community of practice and chaired Novell’s community of practice leader selection committee.
Jay has more than twenty years of experience managing projects and programs in various industries. He is a specialist in project governance structures; project recovery; enterprise project management systems; and the delivery of large, complex integration initiatives.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Jay lives with his family in the Chicago area.
Ron Milton, Executive Vice President, Computerworld
Ron manages the events business, strategic alliances and awards programs for IT executive titles and IT management in storage networking, mobile and wireless, infrastructure/data center, business intelligence and green IT market sectors. Milton leads the team responsible for creating content, sponsor sales, operations, marketing and audience development for all of Computerworld's events, such as brands like Premier 100 IT Leaders®, Storage Networking World®, Mobile & Wireless World®, Infrastructure Management World®, Business Intelligence Perspectives®, Green IT Symposium® and 30-40 IT Executive Summits and Executive Roundtables per year. He is also responsible for the same businesses at InfoWorld® and the Computerworld Honors Program®.
He has 25 years of experience in information technology, serving in both vendor and information services management positions. Before his current role at IDG, Ron was Senior Vice President of CXO Media and General Manager of CIO Magazine's Executive Program Division. Prior to joining Computerworld in 1999, he was President and CEO of IDG's Internet Commerce (ICE) business unit, which he founded in 1996 as a start-up business, and was a pioneer in using e-commerce systems and web marketing. He was a 1996 recipient of the coveted IDG Chairman's Award for the most successful start-up business globally. Before joining IDG, Milton spent five years as Vice President/Partner of GLA computer Systems, a software developer and channel integrator with market share leadership in wholesale travel solutions. Prior to GLA, he also held a variety of management positions in channel management, field sales and marketing at Honeywell Information Systems and Bull HN. He holds degrees from Concordia University and Sir George Williams University.
Shai Ofek, Lead Technical Product Manager, Microsoft
Shai Ofek is a Lead Technical Product Manager in Microsoft’s Windows Server Division, focused on Microsoft virtualization technologies and server consolidation initiatives. He is an experienced architect of diverse technologies including directory services, systems management, secured environments, hardware platforms, datacenter design, as well as others.
Currently Shai is involved in several projects including development of a strategic (heterogeneous) platform standardization, planning for the next generation datacenter, system and server consolidation using virtualization, applying high performance computing for extended and other computation initiatives.
Prior to this role Shai was a senior consultant with Microsoft Consulting Services, where he applied his knowledge of Windows Server technologies to deploy products in organizations ranging from 50 to 10,000 servers. His involvement in projects covered a variety of industries including financial services, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, academia, as well as small businesses. Before joining Microsoft, Shai held key strategic positions in the following organizations: Sumitomo Bank, JP Morgan Chase, Time Warner, as well as other Fortune 100 companies. Shai’s experience with computer technologies started with his service in the Israeli Army in 1988.
Oleg Stepanov, Enterprise Technology Specialist, Intel
Oleg Stepanov is a Solution Specialist with Intel Corporation helping customers understand and implement Intel technologies. He has 15 years experience in the technology industry and for the past five years he has focused on driving innovations in the Healthcare industry, working closely with large pharmaceutical companies.
Allen Stewart, Principal Program Manager, Microsoft
Allen Stewart is a Principal Program Manager in the Windows Server Division Customer Advisory team which is focused on supporting key Windows Server Division technologies.
Allen is focused on Microsoft Virtualization technologies: Hardware Virtualization, Virtualization Management, Application Virtualization. Allen works directly with customers architecting complex, cutting edge, cross product solutions based on Microsoft Virtualization technologies. He also works with various Microsoft virtualization product groups on customer scenarios, technology adoption programs, whitepapers and feature planning.
Allen leads the Microsoft Virtualization Customer Advisory Council where a core set of customers help drive the next generation virtualization scenarios. Allen is a Microsoft Certified Architect and on the board of directors of the Microsoft Certified Architect Program.
